Save The Date: BIPOC Barre & Breathe Class- Fundraiser for Roots

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 13TH AT 11:00AM
We are 6 months in to shelter in place … how are you?  The world feels heavy and uncertain in so many ways and we want to provide a space, especially for those that are being impacted more heavily by everything happening in this moment.

Two changes to our BIPOC Barre & Breathe class this month:

⭐️First, it is FREE for Teachers and Healthcare Workers.  We don’t know how you are doing it and we appreciate you beyond words.
⭐️Second, if you can’t make it to class, sign up anyway as we will send the recording link to you and you will have access to the class for 72 hours so you can take it at time that works better for you.

Our hope is to grow this class so we can continue to offer it virtually AND hopefully in person when that becomes possible again.  Please forward this email along to anyone you know who you think would appreciate it and help us spread the word!

You can sign up one week ahead – save the date now and we’ll send you a reminder when it’s time to sign up!

WHAT IS BIPOC BARRE & BREATHE?
Barre + Breathe is a class to build greater connection to health, fitness, and healing for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color communities. 45-minutes of aerobic barre that calms the nervous system, provides movement to promote change, and stress relief. 15 minutes is dedicated to breath and meditation to release tensions in the body, mind, and soul.

In Lauren’s words:
“I’m teaching this class to create a space for collective joy, release, and inclusion. To focus on your health and fitness with those that look like you, that experience the world similarly and need a moment to take a breath.”

All proceeds from class are donated to Roots Community Health Center.  The mission of Roots is as follows:
“Founded in Oakland, California, the mission of Roots Community Health Center is to uplift those impacted by systemic inequities and poverty. We accomplish this through medical and behavioral health care, health navigation, workforce enterprises, housing, outreach, and advocacy”.

This class takes place on Zoom while our physical doors are still closed.  Please respect that this class is specifically for the BIPOC community.
