Current Open Opportunities:

Family Practice/Internal Medicine Physician , San Jose 

Roots Community Health Center is  seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to serve as Family Practice or Internal Medicine physician  for our South Bay location. This position will provide part-time patient care at Roots South Bay, which is co-located with Ujima Family Services. The physician must be committed to and have experience working with African American and African Ancestry patients,  families, with clinic management and staff oversight. This position will serve as a member of the Management Team and be a key position in the growth and expansion of Roots South Bay.

Medical Biller & Coder, Oakland

Roots Community Health Center is seeking an experienced Medical Biller & Coder. This position will work closely with healthcare providers and insurance carriers to gather and provide accurate billing information. This position will also be responsible for reviewing medical procedures as documented by doctors; translating medical procedures into codes, that can be translated by payors, other medical coders, and other medical facilities. In addition, this position will coordinate insurance reimbursement of care providers and patient billing with the Patient Care Coordinator to ensure accurate, streamlined billing and payment.

Public Health Nurse, Oakland

Roots Community Health Center is seeking an experienced Public Health Nurse (RN, PHN). The incumbent will serve two roles: 0.5 FTE providing college nursing services in the Peralta Community College system (at Laney College and Berkeley City College), and 0.5 FTE conducting complex case management for Roots Community Health Center in Oakland.

Communications Specialist, Oakland

Roots Community Health Center is seeking a Communications Specialist. The incumbent will be committed to the mission, vision and services of Roots and able to communicate these in visual, verbal and written format to potential supporters, stakeholders, funders and collaborative partners. This position works closely with the Policy & Public Affairs Manager to ensure consistency and accuracy of messaging that will broaden the organization’s reach. The Communications Specialist will ensure Communications objectives are being achieved across all media platforms.

Operations Manager, Oakland

Roots Community Health Center is seeking an experienced Operations Manager. This incumbent will manage the day-to-day operations of the clinic and organization. This includes, external relations with related vendors, and monitoring the needs of the organization to operate smoothly. This position oversees and implements systems for office efficiency. The Operations Manager reports to the Director of Operations, and interfaces regularly with Roots various constituencies, including Executive Management, Clinical Directors, and staff.
